Tesla Roadster

No gas? No problem. That is unless you have a problem with going zero to sixty in four seconds in this exotic electric car from Tesla Motors. Boasting 248 horse power, the Tesla Roadster is one of the only performance electric consumer vehicles on the market. Along with the regular increasing benefits of an electric vehicle like free meter parking in many metro areas and single occupancy carpool lane access, the Tesla averages about one cent per mile with up to a 250 mile range per charge. The feather light seventy pound engine is powered by several thousand lithium-ion cells, enough to power 2,000 incandescent light bulbs at peak acceleration. Charging can take as little as three and a half hours and can be done away from home via a mobile charging kit. This green conscious speed demon can be yours for as little as $92,000, but 2007 models are already sold out and the 2008 models are selling fast in the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas.
